knowledge increasing

Increase of Knowledge in the Last Days is a sign of the Soon Return of Christ

There are many interesting prophecies about the Return of Christ in the Bible. In fact, there are literally hundreds of specific prophecies. One of these concerns the increase of knowledge in the End Times.

Increase of Knowledge in the End Times

The Prophet Daniel shared some very precise prophecies about the End Times in his book named Daniel published in the Holy Bible. The Lord shared details about the Last Days with this 6th Century BC prophet. He told him to “seal the book until the time of the end” At the End Times, Daniel was advised that two signs would indicate the end of the world was very close – “Many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase.” (Daniel 12:4).

Both those signs are part of our human experience today. I sat in Dallas airport in the USA one day and watched streams of people rushing to and fro, getting on planes, and coming off them. This scripture came to mind immediately. Our generation is a generation of travelers, all made possible by the increase of knowledge.

Knowledge is Increasing at a Rapid Rate

A professor pointed out on CNN some time ago that knowledge was increasing at such a rate, we can barely keep up. Even computers are out of date before they reach the shop shelves. He said if we could condense knowledge into a 24-hour period, all our major inventions happened in the last half-an-hour!

I thought about that. My father died at the age of 91 in 2003. He had never seen an iPhone, smartphone, iPad, Satellite TV. He lived in a small village and grew up without seeing motor cars as a child.

Computers have yet to Catch Up with the Human Brain

God’s creation is so amazing. The God of All Knowledge made the human brain smarter than any invention of man. Did you know that if there was a computer as powerful as the human brain, it would be able to do 38 thousand trillion operations per second and hold more than 3580 TB of memory?  We are indeed fearfully and wonderfully made.

Knowledge and God

Our God is Omniscient. That means He has all-knowledge, far beyond even the human being who uses a good deal of his brain power. That is why His promise is so wonderful:

“If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. But when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind. Such people should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Their loyalty is divided between God and the world, and they are unstable in everything they do” James 1:5-8.
