Wells and WivesA – Z Challenge 2018

Motivation from the Good Book

Wells and Wives

Drink water from your own well—
share your love only with your wife…
Let your wife be a fountain of blessing for you.
Rejoice in the wife of your youth.
Proverbs 5:15-18

Wells and Wives goes for Husbands too

It is said the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence. That is because it is the place our eyes are focused on. The Lord wants us to focus on the moment. As an old hymn says, let’s praise Him for all that is past and trust Him for all that is to come. Keep our eyes on Him in the present and appreciate every moment as we live it, even if we don’t enjoy some of those moments. He never allows anything in our lives without a purpose.

The Grass is not greener on the other side of the fence. It just looks that way.

As the Bible says with reference to illicit relationships, human nature is such that “Stolen water is refreshing; food eaten in secret tastes the best! But little do they know that the dead are there. Her guests are in the depths of the grave” Proverbs 9:17-18. There is a price to pay for unfaithfulness, both here on earth… and later…

The revealed Will of God is that we always remain absolutely faithful to those with whom we are in relationship. We “run” best when we operate according to “The Manufacturer’s Handbook.”
