God’s Promise to the Church is True
“Because you have kept My command
to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come
upon the whole world,
to test those who dwell on the earth.”
— Revelation 3:10
The Bible warns us that a time of trouble is coming to this earth that is unprecedented. After the Rapture of the Church, we are told that antichrist enters the rebuilt Temple in Jerusalem, declare himself to be God Almighty, and sets up his image in the Holy of Holies. Called the “abomination of desolation” (Daniel 9:27, Daniel 11:31, Mark 13:14), this event takes place halfway through his seven-year reign. The people of God are urged to leave Israel immediately as dreadful persecution awaits them and awful desolation takes place on the earth.
“Let no one deceive you by any means;
for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first,
and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition,
who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God
or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God,
showing himself that he is God.”
— 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4
An evil ruler tried to fulfil that prophecy in BC 168. Antiochus IV ruled Israel at this time. He declared himself to be Antiochus Epiphanes (the Visible God), but those he ruled nicknamed him Antiochus Epimanes (the Mad Man). He offered a pig on the altar of the Temple and sprinked its blood on the Mercy Seat in the Holy of Holies, and set out to annihilate the Jews. They were horrified and rose up under the leadership of Judas Maccabeus, chasing him out of Israel in a civil war known historically as the Maccabaean Revolt. That prophecy will be fulfilled by the antichrist and lead to trouble the world has never experienced, even in its worst moments.
This World is heading for Trouble
“For in those days there will be such tribulation as has not been from the beginning of the
creation that God created until now, and never will be.
And if the Lord had not cut short the days, no human being would be saved.
But for the sake of the elect, whom He chose, He shortened the days.”
— Mark 13:14-20.
The bulk of the Book of Revelation deals with the seven-year reign of antichrist. This is an “hour of trial” which shall come upon the whole world and all its inhabitants. It has never happened quite like this before, and the Lord promises His Church that they will not be a part of it. They will be Raptured and no longer dwelling on the earth when this dreadful time of trouble takes place.
The Church is Going Home
“For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work.
Only he who now restrains it will do so until he is out of the way.
And then the lawless one will be revealed,
whom the Lord Jesus will kill with the breath of his mouth
and bring to nothing by the appearance of his coming.”
— 2 Thessalonians 2:7-8
The Holy Spirit given to the Church on the Day of Pentecost is the One restraining the evil one through the Church, and we are leaving! Later the Church shall return with the Lord when He stands on the Mount of Olives at the end of antichrist’s reign.
How Close are we to the Rapture of the Church?
The signs are all around us.
- Religious Signs – False Christs and False Prophets.
- Political Signs – Wars and Rumours of Wars, especially kingdoms and nations fighting one another.
- Physical Signs – earthquakes, diseases, famines.
- Persecution Madness of Christians and Jews.
- Moral (Immoral) Signs reminiscent of the Days of Noah.
- Gospel Signs as the Gospel is preached around the world 24/7.
- Sign of the Fig Tree – the Nation of Israel reborn (1948).
Keep on keeping on, believer! Our future is secure in Christ. There are magnificent things ahead for you and me. Jesus is coming for His Church. The Rapture of the Church is next on His Eternal Agenda. This is not the first time God has raptured (snatched away) His saints. Enoch walked with God – right into Heaven (Genesis 5:24). So did Elijah (2 Kings 2:11,12).
Are you ready to meet HIM?
“Assuredly I say to you,
this generation will by no means pass away, ‘till all these things are fulfilled.
Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.”
— Matthew 24:34,35
A Message to the World
“The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise to return, as some people think.
No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to perish,
so he is giving more time for everyone to repent.”
— 2 Peter 3:9 NLT
A Message to the Church
“Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober.
For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk are drunk at night.”
— 1 Thessalonians 5:6,7
The Rapture is a Great Truth
“Therefore comfort (encourage and strengthen) each other
and edify (build up) one another,
just as you also are doing”
— 1 Thessalonians 5:11
Jesus is Coming Soon!
“Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have,
that no one may take your crown.”
— Revelation 3:11
