However, any serious student of the Scriptures is aware that Psalm 2 is what is known as a Messianic Psalm. While it has immediate reference to King David, it also has prophetic significance with reference to the Messiah. There are many Psalms like this, plus other Bible passages. e.g. Psalm 22.
