15D.L. Moody said that the world has yet to see what God can do through one person who is totally yielded to Him.

“And should I not pity Nineveh, that great city, in which are more than one hundred and twenty thousand persons who cannot discern between their right hand and their left; and much livestock?” – Jonah 4:11
There were over 120,000 children in Nineveh, little people who had not yet reached the age of discernment. These innocents – and the innocent livestock – would have perished if the people of Nineveh had continued in their sin and rejected God’s offer of mercy.
Jonah did not spare the children or the animals a passing thought. The plant directly impacted his life and that was all that mattered to him.
We do not hear anything more from Jonah, but the Bible speaks highly of him as a “type” of word-picture of Christ. (Luke 11:30).
Jesus told the people that the Ninevites would testify on the Day of Judgment against the generations to follow because they had repented at the preaching of Jonah, while those who heard Christ Himself minister hardened their hearts. (Matthew 12:41).
Will you take up the mantle of Jonah and share this message with your world? D.L. Moody said that the world has yet to see what God can do through one person who is totally yielded to Him.
Will you accept the challenge?

13What do you and I feel the most passionate about? Things?.. Or people?

“And should I not pity Nineveh, that great city …” – Jonah 4:11
Human beings often care more about their possessions and animals, than about their fellows. God always cares about people first.
Jonah was angry because a plant died and he was hot. How much more grievous it was to the Lord that the people of Nineveh had been in danger of losing their never-dying souls for eternity. Jonah had not even planted that gourd, while God had created and watched over these precious people.
If Jonah could care about a mere plant, how much more did the Lord not have compassion on thousands of people who needed His help? The plant had sprung up quickly, and died just as quickly. It had taken a lifetime for these people to mature. One soul is of more value to the Lord than many material possessions.
Jim Elliott, missionary and pioneer, put it this way. “That man is no fool who will give up what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose.” He gave his life in an endeavor with fellow missionaries to reach a tribe of cannibals. This magnificent story is told in the book “Through Gates of Splendor”. It is a book every Christian should read. They gave everything in their passion for people.
What do you and I feel the most passionate about? Things?.. Or people?
