God is Faithful

A Fulfilled Life

“After this Job lived one hundred and forty years, and saw his children and grandchildren
for four generations. So Job died, old and full of days.”
(Job 42:16-17)

Job died an old man, having lived a full and complete life. There had been “highs” and there had been “lows” but, overall, his testimony has rung through the generations that followed – God is Sovereign and He is Faithful.

We take note of three things as we close this book.

  1. God will never allow us to suffer more than we can take.
  2. Satan’s power is limited and subject to God’s sovereignty.
  3. God is faithful and He brought both Job and his wife out of their trial, regardless of their personal reactions.

God is faithful! Choose to believe that and you will find – no matter what happens in life – You Can Take It in His Strength and because of His Grace.

“No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.” — 1 Cor. 10:13

Do You Want To Know The Secret To Family Harmony?

Family Blessings

“Indeed the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before – He also had seven sons and three daughters.” (Job 42:10,13)

Wait a minute! Didn’t Job start off with seven sons and three daughters (1:2)? Why only ten children?

Incidentally, many believe that Job had a new wife, but there is absolutely no record of his first wife dying or leaving him.

God said He gave them double – and this is one of the most precious moments in this book.

Job had prayed earnestly for the spiritual welfare of his ten children. Now he understood that they were safely in the Lord’s keeping. He had double the amount of children indeed – ten in Heaven and ten on earth.

What a magnificent assurance that the Lord had heard his prayers. No prayer is wasted! (Revelation 5:8).

Job is a changed man and it shows in his new attitude towards his children. He used to pray for them regularly and consistently – but he favoured his boys (1:5). Now he treats all his children equally. “In all the land were found no women so beautiful as the daughters of Job; and their father gave them an inheritance among their brothers” (Job 42:15).

Here is the secret of family harmony.
