We Are Acceptable To God

” .. to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He has made us accepted in the Beloved.” – Eph 1:6

Acceptance is not something that comes easily to people. The suspicion and antagonism of human beings towards one another has spawned a whole industry of jokes and drama. The famous “in-law” jokes are a case in point.

The wonderful thing about the Lord is that we are totally acceptable to Him! Satan does his best to tell us that God is not that interested in us personally.

“Most of the time,” he assures those who will listen to his lies, “the Lord is not even on speaking terms with you. Think He will answer your prayers? Forget it!”

If that were not so, more people would pray. The Church Prayer Meeting, traditionally the worst attended service of the week, would be overflowing and buildings would burst at the seams. Why don’t we pray more? Think about it.

We love to be with people who love us. Their acceptance, encouragement and warmth attract us to them. How we need to spend time with the Lord, getting to really know Him and asking that we may be able to comprehend the length, depth, height and width of His Amazing Love.

He is “a great protecting Rock, where I am always welcome, safe from all attacks.” – Psalm 71:3 (TLB). Hallelujah!
