Jesus Christ: Smitten And Spat Upon
“I gave My back to those who struck Me, And My cheeks to those who plucked out the beard; I did not hide My face from shame and spitting.”
- Isaiah 50:6
Jesus Christ knew long before He came to earth how men would treat Him. It was no surprise. He told the prophets details of His suffering long before it happened.
“Then they spat in His face and beat Him; and others struck Him with the palms of their hands, 68 saying, ?Prophesy to us, Christ! Who is the one who struck You?’” – Matthew 26:67,68.
The Lord could have called ten thousand angels to stop men in their tracks, but He chose to go all the way for your sake and mine.
We owe it to Him to “go all the way” for Him in a world of compromise and slackness.
He does not want our gratitude or gifts – He wants us!
Why not make a new and fresh commitment to Him today?
